Kayaking, Canoeing & SUP

Kayak Icon

Scotland offers all sorts of canoeing, kayaking and SUP possibilities, from tranquil paddling across calm lochs to challenging white water conditions.

The companies listed below can help you make the most of your paddling, whether it’s kayak instruction, taking SUPs out on a loch or a multi-day canoe trip across Scotland.

All Wild Scotland members operate in line with our Best Practice Guidelines in regards to sustainability, accessibility, community and safety.

There can be few better adventures than kayaking across the open sea, and with its myriad of small islands, Scotland makes a wonderful place to explore by sea kayak. If you’re lucky you might see whales, dolphins and other wildlife as you paddle through the remote and breathtaking coastal scenery.

River kayaking in a white water boat is equally memorable and gives you a unique vantage point for admiring the riverside. Book a lesson to learn how to navigate white water safely and hone your skills.

Paddling in an open canoe will take you back to a time before roads when the best way to get around Scotland was by water. Of course, we’ve got roads now – lots of them – but all the more reason to get away from them with a canoeing trip through some of Scotland’s wildest and most beautiful landscapes.

Want to try something new, how about Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP)? Quite simply, it involves standing on a board (called a SUP-board) and using a paddle to propel yourself along.
